I was looking for a geared 50cc bike as i am fed up of having no gears. I cant find very many really apart from the aprilla sr50 but thats too expensive. Is there any other 50cc geared bikes brand new for around £1500.

Why buy new? you wont get £500 for it after a year of use...
Appart from that they can't make 2stroke engines anymore, so you'd have to have a 4stroke 50, which is gonna be struggleing a bit.

Almost all offroady 50's are geared, bonus is you can take them offroad + high up so better road presence. Should be cheap enough too.

Wait till 17, buy nsr125 or aprilia if you must.

Or buy Second hand 50 offroader for £500 keep the £1000 for next year and get an nsr Thumbs Up

Yeah you should but a geared 50cc offroader (like mine). I picked mine up on an 05 plate had done 114km in its lifetime for £1200. Not bad i thought. Havent had a bad thing to say about it!

Why dont they make 2 strokes anymore? Confused

im selling mu peugeot XR6 geared bike for £1,200, still got over a year warrenty, its been dropped a few times but no massive damage, never been in a crash either, think its for 9,000 km's on the clock and its a 05 model.

Its de-restricted, ive had 62mph out of it as my fastest on the A road.

Havnt modified anything, apart from an extra brake light under the tail and one of them small number plates ( i got the old one still as the small one is illegal )

They do, but they soon won't. The emissions restrictions will soon make it an economically unviable option to develop the 2-stroke engine to meet them, when it's far easier to produce a four-stroke which meets the restrictions.

Go used for your first bike, and still expect a lot of depreciation for anything you buy near a grand. An RS50 will hold its value well between £500-£1000, '98 models still go for about £800 on ebay.

Yamaha TZR 50
Derbi GPR 50
Peugeot XR6
Motorhispania RX50
Aprilia RS50
Rieju RS1
Rieju RS2 Matrix
Derbi Senda

Just stick with your ped until your 17 mate.

If not find a cheap geared offroader on ebay or something.
Not had any trouble with my RS, except the stupid insurance.

i need the carb sorting out, as iv fitted a race exhaust system and doesnt like the low revs and kicks out smoke when i start off riding it,

Aprilia RX50, good build quality, they're are good examples out there for your budget and below second hand, new they are £2grand ish,

but why not just stik it out on your current 50, its only 12 months maximum before you're able to get a 125,

save your cash for a 125...

so does my gpz500, if the smoke is white, its condenstation (moisture) from overnight storage, unless I ride my bike for a decent distance it wont go away every time I start it.

Time of year, not alot you can do about it afaik

Please do not spend £1500 on a 50cc. Just don't do it. Put the card back in the wallet.

Lol, only meant if you wait a while you could get so much more for £1500. Of course that means waiting and not having a bike so I'll just shut up.

Stick with your scooter, i bought a brand new TZR50, i wish i'd saved the money and got a scooter now. That way you can spend more on a proper bike.
