I had a wicked day with you lot @ Boxhill Very Happy

But about 10mins after i left you lot (sorry to anyone i didn't say bye 2) i was doing about 50mph @ 6000rpm THEN Exclamation BANG i thought the engine had exploded, but it just slowly died Crying or Very sad
I could not figure out what happened, no oil leeks or any sign of damage Confused won't start, but will turn over (seemed to be no compression) Confused By some luck i met a mate from college @ the petrol station down the road, and went back to his place to wait for the recovery ppl Smile On they way back his dad came with us and he pointed out that my spark plug was no longer in the engine Exclamation So hopefully it won't cost too much to repair. The recovery driver said that the previous owner might have over tightened the plug and caused this Mad (was not me cos i've never touched the plug).
I have just got home now!
/ Rant over. Hope everyone got home safely, and thx again for a nice day out ppl (sorry you had to slow down for me on the ride outs)
Very Happy Cool

Surprised Oww no! Bad luck Danny!
We didnt mean to infect you with the curse!...Honestly! Sad

....Thats why i always am a bit dubious about going to BH...because it is normally the case that someone will either....

a) Get there tools out, and hit things
b) Someone has bike 'technical' difficulties
c) Various dodgy 'incidents' occur on rideouts (i.e with cars/205's)
d) Someone crashes

You are this weeks "chosen one"...You are special! Cool

It was also very nice to meet you too, today, finally! Smile
Hopefully you are now one of the lifelong true "BH crew" Smile

...And i dont mind waiting for your iccle nsr at the back. It gives me the chance to look out for random left-over bodies that we may mislayed, and have left lying on the road! (i.e....G Razz )

Wink

pushs me back to the top where i look down..
whoops fuel taps off Embarassed oops!

Suprised keith didnt chase me round the car park after that, but he was probably to tired lol.

Hi

I have had spark plugs pop out. Normally after I have replaced them on a warm engine so not tightened them up fully (too easy to wreck the thread by overtightening when warm)

All the best

Keith

I went to the garage that i had it serviced in and asked what could cause the above and the guy said definitely plug was not tightened properly. I said "thats funny cos' i've not touched the plug since it was serviced here" he replies hmmmmm...........thats unusual. Rolling Eyes
I thought he could have at least given me a free spark plug Rolling Eyes

If you start making a bit of a fuss, cos that could have fucked something big style, or caused a crash.

you can also start mentioning things like trading standards, or stuff like that.

I didn't make a big fuss cos they know and i know that i can't prove shit Sad But i might have a little word with trading standards anywayz. Also, i go there for things every now and then and i don't want them being all snooty to me.

Hi

Would rather have them pop out than crack the head. Biggest worry if they pop out is that they can take out the thread in the head

Also with some bikes the ignition system does not appreciate the spark plug not being earthed, so you fry the cdi unit

All the best

Keith

There not other bikes shops/ garages? I know I wouldnt carry on going to somewhere which does work like that. The NSR isnt exactly the most complicted bike to work on.

I only buy stuff from there now. I found a much better/cheaper garage a while back. Don't know anywhere in my area that have a decent selection of stuff like spark plugs Confused
