Hi everybody
My problem is that 3 weeks ago my bike was ok, now it has trouble starting, Its weird because when i go to start it ,sometimes it will turn over the engine , then say half hour later i will press the starter button and nothing it is dead as a dodo, and then LOL sometimes i go to start it again and it's like the startermotor engages, turns over the motor about 2 to 3 turns and its like the startermotor disengages even when i still have my thumb on the starter. I thought it might be the battery at first but the charger say,s it,s 100%. even when i use the booster starter function on the charger it does the same thing turns over for a bit then disengages with my thumb still on the starter???????????
ps another problem i have is when it does turn over it will not fire-up unless i put my hand over the air filter box vent on the top off the filter box how silly is that ????
any help would be great........Thanks....Terry Very Happy Very Happy Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Amatuer response here:

Firstly it sounds like you may have a dodgy connection on your started motor button, so maybe something electronic.

If you have to put your hand over the Air vent then it may be acting as a choke? Does your bike already have a choke you could be using?

Sounds like your battery might be "surface charged", which is a technical term for completely broken. Look up "remove surface charge" on the t'internet and you'll see it's pretty easy to diagnose the problem.
