Just suppose I was to (hypothetically speaking of course) remove my restrictors, is it just a case of removing them, or are the carbs set up to cope with the restricted setting?

my zx6r and gsxr400 were fine but my mates r6 was shite, although he had some other restriction as well as the washers.

Erm, carb mixture isnt effected by 33bhp restriction. It just limts how much of the mixture can get into the engine...

When my FireStorm was restricted, they just restricted it. It ran like shit, and wasnt normal again until a few days later when the washers were removed Twisted Evil

Saying that I have a face that people in authority don't like (always get stopped at customs, got stopped in car a few weeks ago), so not the best thing for me to do.

Mine ran fine after taking the restrictors out as did my brothers but if i were you i would wait until your next service then take them out just before then they should balance the carb on the service, even if it's just to give you the piece of mind that you done it right

reckon carbs need balancing because of the can i got, seems a bit rough on low revs once past 5 grand its fine!

Taking out the 33 bhp restrictors won't make much of a difference until you get the engine working, you'll get more top speed and more acceleration. Coppers will hardly ever stop you for checking on restrictions unless its a ped that's obviously been tweaked, the problem really only comes to notice if you bin the bike and they decide to have the bike examined when they find out you're on a restricted licence. Then if the restrictors are out it's No licence and No insurance, even if you can produce an insurance certificate. It don't hapen too often though.

yep my r6 had the washers and some spacers in the carb tops to stop the slide opening much to stop over fuleing. my bike ran like shite when it was restricted.

on the restrictor sheet it should say what type of restrictors u have.

one reson why most bikes run bad after derestriction is people often dont tighten the carbs back on properly so they leak, fidlle with the carb balancing screws not knowing what they are or dont completly remove all the restrictors (for exsample they will remove the washers but not the jets or throttle stop depeniding on what your bike has).

its worth doing just try not to get pulled to many times. Praying
