yzf750r anyone know much about these are they good?? (well I know there good boost bike etc) but are they a pain to keep expensive etc ? , seem to be abel to pick them up for a good price .
any help would be good .

Very underrated bike, 6 pots, upsidedownies, nicely powerful motor, good looks... (colour scheme dependant). Always under the shadow of the litre/900 bikes at the time, but shouldn't put you off. Insurance/running costs should be a little less than the bigger bikes too.

Just avoid the shell-suit schemes.

Worked on one at the workshop, very nice! Looks/is better equiped than the early R6's. It did how ever burst a coolant pipe while doing carb balancing and burned my mates arm today, scared the shit out of me, the spray was about 6ft long.

They were brough out to keep up with the blade, and despite the 150cc difference, they did it easily!

I'll get a pic scanned in of my old one and post it! Neutral

yzf 750 >>> A top bike imo, tour, track, they can do it all with ease.

IF you get a little bored with the power simply bolt in a 1000exup (or thunderace) lump Thumbs Up

Running costs are ok, service intervals are good but keep a eye on the exup and cables..
Engines are very strong (i used to race one !) the only total failure I had was the clutch basket broke up and tore a hole in the crank-case
I belive the last model released came with Ohlins back and front as standard Thumbs Up

Build quality is ok, thats about all, parts are easily available but not cheap if OE.

I rate it highly but it does feel a little lardy compared to a blade.(Flreblade is better in every way if you can afford the insurance etc) .
The Fireblade is more rewarding to ride at track pace but with a competant rider the yzf will stay with it with ease Thumbs Up
