Got this TDM850 the other day. Absolutely stunning condition. It is a 1996 model and has just over 22000miles on the clock. It's much better than my old GS500. Even though it is heavier, the TDM is really good at walking speed riding, mainly due to the wide bars. I love it already, especially the way it looks and sounds. The insurance is really very cheap on this bike too. £450 TPFT at 18 with 2 yrs ncb. The only down side is that it has to be restricted, so I can't ride it officially till Monday, but I insured it anyway while it's sat in the garage just incase the worst happens.

Well I bet you all want pictures, well here you go Very Happy

There are a few points that I don't like about it. They are the Carbon Fibre stickers on the front nose, on the mudguard and the hand made TDM850 stickers. Also the thin tape on the plastics has to go, along with the GB sticker.

The Nexxus exhausts sound really nice once you get going, but are also very quiet when you need them to be, like riding at sensible speeds. A few things that I'll be getting for the bike is a center stand, to help with maintanance, hand guards, to keep the wind and rain of my hands, a top box, for bits and pieces and probably some bike protection like crash bars and those plastic bung things.

Don't like it much meself, lower profile tyres and ditching the rim tape would help.

The colours are a little weird, maybe I'll get it resprayed at some point, but not soon. It's great for riding around town. Enough low down grunt to tow a plane Very Happy It hardly has to rev at all. In 5th it can do 80mph at just under 4000rpm Shocked

Its looks and reputation for being ultra reliable and comfy are why I bought it. Much nicer looking than the V-Stroms.

I like the rim tape too. It's reflective, which makes my bike easier to see at night Very Happy It's a win, win situation.
