Hi all, i am new here, been reading few posts seems like your a nice lot lol

basically i am hoping to get a dt125r 1998 bike soon, and am interested about the height issue, i am not very tall at all only 5'7" and have been told they are fair tall bikes...

i have been on xr125 and kx125 and a ktm125 and they were ok ish... could of been done with being a bit lower, but wondered if a dtr would be ok??? and i have heard you can lower them? is it a shorter spring or more complicated

Seat height on one of those i belive is 34.8 inches, which is fairly huge!

Also ive only found info on bikes from 2000... you sure its 1998?

The DT is about the same size as the KMX.

Provided you can get one toe on the ground it's doable Thumbs Up

Ride height is irrelevant once you are off and going. As long as you can get a foot down far enough to hold it up when you stop, no worries.

Sat on a new one 05 model i beleive and it was that leaned over that it hurt my ankle trying to stand it back up, it was ridiculously tall for me but i think im only 5'5" or something........not sat on an older one sorry. Sad

i am 5ft 8
dirt bikes have softer suspensions so when you are actually sitting on it, the seat is lower than when you stand next to it.

I have ridden yzf450, wr450, and dominator, all of which were bigger bikes. The 450's were a bit tall for me but still ok.

dt125 is fine, you just need the balls of your feet on the floor, not your heels

have a test ride. You might be a bit unsure in the first 5 minutes, but after that you will probably be ok.
