worn bearing

hi can anyone tell me how to check if the small end bearing is worn and how you know if the piston rings are sticking to the piston the bike this is on is a 2 stroke kawasaki kmx 125 cheers

If you slide the barrel off and the rings don't spring out of their slots (they shouldn't come all the way off the piston) then they're sticking.

To check the little end, slide the gudgeon pin into the bearing and then try and pull it up and down vertically (holding it at each end) - there shouldn't be any play. You will find a little play if you rock it but up and down should be nothing.

And by the time you are that far in, you may as well just replace it. Remember to use new gudgeon pin circlips when you put it back together.
