KTM 300 EXC...... opinions>?

A mate has one for sale a 1990 model,i am tempted by it, i have no info on the bike as to how good they are,and fancy a change to my CRM 250, anyone here had any experience of them?

I've got a 350 Enduro - basically an earlier version of that and it seems ok generally, though I haven't had a change or the skill to push it properly.

I know the later (say in the last ten years) models of the EXC are held in pretty high regard - as much low down go as a 4 stroke with a screaming top end and light weight. Not sure how the olders ones are considered to be, but suspect it's going to be a step up from the CRM.

What year/model CRM have you got?
[edit]Just remembered you have a CRM125 - if this does have the NSR engine, then the KTM should be a pretty big step up. Probably not so suitable for everyday road use though.

Compared to the 125 the KTM will be very fast I expect - when mine digs it's claws in it can kick you along at a very respectable pace off road.
