FZ6 Fazer - This bike felt about the right height looks sweet and price wise not bad.

Hornet - Lovely liked this for a long time

ER6-F now this is a nice bike and I disagreed with the comments on poor build quality but on closer inspection it is a bit shite to be honest and just doesnt have the quality of other bikes. However it does have good reviews in many magazines

GSR600 - Again this is a sweet bike. Sat on it at the G-Mex and was really nice felt good between my legs (way hey)

Now the other 3 are a different league to the ER as thats like 65bhp where as the others are 90+.

What is your opinions on these bikes? Which would you recommend. I am more inclined towards the faired bikes as i have to drive lots of motorway miles to work (ok 60 a day but it is M6 over Thellwall which is a bit of a pain and windy in my car)

So opinions please!

Cheers guys

Catherine

PS:

The Kawasaki Z750S too, this is a nice bike! Opinions on this too!

A brand new '04 model Fazer 600 was my first big bike, I loved it and didn't have any problems until a pretty horrific crash in october wrote us both off.

I'm surprised you found the seat uncomfy - I commuted to work 15 miles every day on mine without any problems, and carried out 100 mile plus trips on several occasions with no sore-bum issues. I'm 6'1 and 16 stone, I found the upright position brilliant for visibility in traffic and comfort over distance.

It's been slagged off in some recent reviews for a lack of grunt in the lower revs, but I personally think that is perfect for novices and commuters - well mannered at low speeds and in traffic - screaming power on NSLs or when you get more confident with the throttle. In 13 months of riding it I didn't really have a single complaint. I was looking forward to fitting some luggage and taking it touring this year - that's obviously not going to happen now.

It looks nicer and more modern than the alternatives in my opinion, the ER6n especially looks a bit bodged up close.

Have you looked at the SV as well?
Also my current favourite - the TRX850, which seems to be fairly good for short people as it's got a lowish seat height and quite narrow - and can be got quite cheaply as well!

I've got one, very happy with it. Not had any of the others though, so I can't compare it for you. Some good deals about at the moment, although I have noticed the prices creeping up since December.
