DIY Chain Oiler

I'm toying with the idea of making up a DIY chain oiler. 1st thought is about using some sort of electric valve type setup to open up a gravity fed feedpipe from a reservoir when the ignition is on. Then down to a simple dropper sitting somewhere near the rear sprocket similar to the loobman.

Anyone else tried this sort of thing it can't be too difficult, can it ?

Don't Motrax already have an electronic chain oiler. Lubetronic I think it's called. Doesn't need any pipes cutting like the scottoiler.

Have a look at the loobman:

It's not autmatic, but you get used to doing it quickly enough and is cheaper / less hassle than a plumbed in one.

I like the look of the Motrax one, but I still fancy having a go at making one up I'm sure if I can find the right valve I can do it for half the price.

It's driving me mad at the moment with all the salt on the roads I'm having to oil the chain every couple of days else it goes stiff Confused So I might just give in and get the plastic out in the end.

i might make one of the guide A ones, got loads of old fuel injectors cloging up my storage boxes Cool


may be a small 100cc honda but its chain needs lube too Wink

oh no.. remembered h100 is 6 volt Razz car stuff is 12 volt and im not wiring up another battery just for oil lube thing
