Someone having been in the forces doesnt necesarily make them hard, bet there are some right softies in there.
Being hard IMO is not important its being able to take care of yourself if you get caught up in some sticky situation. I remember the saying "it takes a bigger man to just walk away". Fighting gets you nowhere in most cases.
This reminds me of those so called footie fans that simply go along for the fights, nothing to do with who they support, I say to them grow up
