Hi.

I'm thinking about booking my A2 test as soon as possible so I can buy my friends CBR 400. From what I've gathered it consists of 2.5/3.5 days, the full days practicing on a 125 and then on the half day is the test day. But my friend told it might be wiser to book a few practice sessions before hand since I only ride a 50cc scooter , so therefore I'm not used to gears, but I have been riding now for nearly 18 months now, so I've got a fair bit of road sense. Have I got this correct & would it be wise to book a few practice sessions?

Cheers.

Well, I know how to drive a car if that makes it any better. On the practice sessions, or full 'days' is it basic manovers like emergency stop & 'U' turn, etc? What bike did you do your test on Grovve? Cheers.

I'm doing exactly the same as you, and took 1 2 hour lesson. Then they told me what I needed, and I only needed 1 days intensive plus the test. Thumbs Up I suggest taking one lesson, so they can check you out, see how much you will need.

No-one seems to have asked the question yet. But...

Have you passed your CBT?

Or, are you riding your 50cc on your car entitlement ?

If the latter is the case, then you'll have to do the CBT and Theory before your test Confused

Yes. I passed it in August of 2004, so I'm basically trying to book my A2 test & pass it before my CBT expires in August this year. Thumbs Up

You will need to get the 400 restricted, as it's somewhat over the 33 bhp limit.

If you've been riding 18 months, you should have a good idea how traffic works by now Smile

3.5 days should be plenty. There are lots of us who did DAS in 3.5 / 4.5 days and had never been on a bike before.
