Its an NS125R...

The Fairing isn't original, it has been resprayed black.

Its probably a 1989 or 1990 bike.

I'm sure there was a bloke on here a few days ago asking how much we thought it was worth. He said he had had bikes when he was younger, but one he crashed and one got nicked. He bought the NS you see to get back into it. So he was either bulshitting and had gotten the pics from ebay or he was going to sell the bike on.

Its kickstart only, and I expect the heated grips will kill the battery.

If you want it, go for it, but don't expect it to be super fast or super reliable.

You could have got a '98 with scuffed fairings for that cash. my 51 plate cagiva planet was £900.

Unlucky mate.

Mine did an indicated 95, but started to weave worryingly above 80.

Yeah sorry, I didn't realise you were the same guy... Embarassed

TBH I'd say it was about right. Any 125 with an MOT has to be worth something. A 125 with an MOT would be worth more than an equivalent 250 with an MOT, just because of the whole learner thing.

Also I don't see many road legal bikes (at all) for less than £600, so it probably is worth around £700 tbh.

But for the money, there are better bikes to be found.

If you can't afford £700 in one go, may I suggest you save your money...?

What happens if it seizes? What happens if you get a couple of punctures? Could you afford the fixes then? Garages won't let you pay by installments.

And yes, it's probably worth somewhere around that, but I wouldn't pay that much, and you could get a better bike for that money.

I paid £200 for a perfectly running and MOT'd 125. Wasn't the prettiest thing ever, nor the fastest, but it got me through my test.

This is from the advert from off ebay ..

The renovation work we did included a completed strip down and replacement of most nuts and bolts as well as a complete respray, New cylinder barrel, piston, rings, small end and gudgeon pin, new clutch plates, rear wheel bearing, front disk pads (Oct 05),. We also had a fairing made to original specification and replaced many small items to improve reliability and performance. (Radiator cap, new battery, heated hand grips, alarm, new globes, indicators, etc)

Overall we spent in excess of £1000 on renovating the bike (excluding time) and it has been super reliable and performs very well for its engine size. We have loads of spares that can be negotiated for by any person requiring spares or perhaps the new owner.

a grand?????? yeah right. looks like a couple of paint cans from halfords hand painted, and how is it a FULL respray when the fairing and body is a diferent colour??? all of the above parts dont come to much. its an old bike and no it wont do over 100 mph Laughing , its a fookin old skool nsr for god sake. why dont you listen to peoples comments on here, its a pile of poo poo. offer him 400 max or walk away. in my opinion of course Wink

Mr Tattoo's argument is entirely valid. It's not worth that money.

Maybe you should be spending this money on your son, and get a bike at a later date when you /can/ actually afford it.

I've got a mate, who says "why didn't you come to me, I could've got you one cheaper" Rolling Eyes and then, on the rare occasions when asked, completely fails to get one cheap at all. Laughing

It's all about being able to differentiate a bargain from a money pit.

eBay is good for bikes, but basically re-sprays are a no-no, generally anything other than the standard fairings are a no-no. Unless it's /very/ cheap.

Cheap bikes are in the eye of the beholder really.

bargains are out there mate, u may need to travel to get to it but they are around.
I got my Honda clr125 for £700, 1 owner, 9k miles, mot, fsh, 1999 reg. Overall very good condition.

If I was u I wouldn't settle for a bike just because he will let u pay in installments. I would save the money up in a seperate bank account (so your mrs can't get it Laughing) and buy the right bike.

But u never know it maybe worth a look at the ebay bike it could be fine, but if u have any doubts just walk away.

good luck
