Got a micron can on the rs, but its still not loud enough, there is a nice crackle but i want it to be a bit louder + crisper.

Iv'e been thinking about making it a stubby.

(please excuse the shite picture, its just an idea)

You have a stroker and its not loud enough for you?! dear god!

On a stroker its even more important to get the engine breathing right, you can get away with it better on a 4stroke but I wouldnt bother on one of them.

Im assuming you have a spare can to put on if you get pulled?

Seriously mate I wouldnt bother as you could do more harm than good.

Thats it,

Two stroke tuneing with exhausts takes ages getting it just right, runing computer simlations of combustion chambers e.t.c. to get the back pressure absoloutely spot on (because the engine relys on pressure pushing back in from the exhaust to hold the fuel in if that makes sense) (that might not be right, but wither way, its not going to do it any good)

Something like this will pish allover your performance Thumbs Down

edit: https://science.howstuffworks.com/two-stroke1.htm

Theres a lovely gif that shows it brillaintly, somebody should be allong to post it anytime Razz

2 smokes rely on back pressure mate a lot, cuttin the can down spells bad news to me, 4 strokes are different and you can get away with a lot more. get a full race system and it should be loud, too loud for most though, most of the 2 smoke noise is the ring ding ding from the expansion chamber. i have a full system on my cr500 and its stupidly loud, ive packed the end can as much as i can and its rediculous still Very Happy

well ive changed from a cat end can to the straight through micron, i always thought the whole pressure thing happened in the expansion chamber, and the can was just a silencer.

although i do think it may need the carbs playing with again

the gases get sucked into the expansion chamber the sqweezed outa the tiny end can causing the back presure. to be hounest the two strokes can is tiny and doesnt have that much there in the first place, get a full system, you no you want to Very Happy

The RS50 is well known for being one of the tinniest bikes around, doubt a different end can will make a difference! Wink

A mate of mine has an RS125 with a full arrow exhaust on it - its loud as fuck above 7000rpm. I think i've seen them on the 50 before aswell. It was well expensive though, about 300 quid he paid for it.

But the rs50 uses the same engine as nearly every other geared 50. The exhaust did a world of good on my old 50, sounded brilliant. Really raspy and sharp, very smooth too.

Rs50 cans are small to begin with. reducing it further doesnt help the bikes looks.
