Ebay dispute trouble

Hello,

About 8 months ago i paid £45 for some brake calipers and pads from an ebay seller, i paid through paypal
The calipers arrived but the pistons were totally siezed, i emailed the seller about 4 times over a month about the problem, asking for a refund but i got nothing.
I sent a form to paypal about what happened and they got me my £45 back and the calipers were sent back to the seller.

The next day i got an abusive email from the seller who had obviously been billed £45 (funny how he responds now )

nothing else came of it untill today.

i got a lovely threatening email from the seller

"alright mate i know where you live so you are going to
get a knock on your door one day lets hope you answer"

he obviously has my address from ebay.
and for all i know he could even be on this forum?


So any ideas on what to do?

Tell him that you'll use that e-mail as evidence in court if ANYTHING happens to you, or your property.

He's just trying to scare you into giving him his money back. Email him back saying he's welcome to take you to court, but any harrassment you will take to criminal court. Sorted.

Contact the police ask them to come to your home to view the email.Threatening online is actualy worse then doing it in person to some 1 as you have hard evidence of what he said.Trust me i know i had my pc removed for 1 month an got given a warning that if i ever threatend any 1 online i would lose the use of any pc an the net.

i bought something from ebay for 200 quid chain i think for the misses an what he sent was'nt what i saw in the pic.I lost the plot an told him nicely i would cut his dogs throat shag his misses while he watched then piss in his face (Actualy think i was worse then that) altho for 200 quid i would have followed it up.He then become a big man an took me up on my offer.I emaild back explaining what would happen to him including a hose pipe up his anal then turned on .

Within week i had police at my house an police from the midlands contacting me.I allmost lost me pc an any use of the internet.Me being the simple kind of person i am forgot the email has my address attached an ip

They actualy take online threatening worse then verbaly doing it.

Contact the old bill there get hold of him an put a nice lil fright into him he wont do it again

The police thing sounds good. I never thought they would take it that seriously but if they do, great.

Try to wind him up a bit more (without writing anything that could get yourself into trouble) and hope you get a few more threatening emails first to strengthen your complaint.

I'd keep a copy, and a printed copy of the e-mail and it's headers (or if it was an eBay "my messages" the message).

Then i'd report the person to their internet service provider for abuse. And eBay (altough that's often a waste of time), and if you feel really threatened the police too.

Altough, in my experience, dealing with awkward sods on eBay, the ones that lack communication skills, and customer service, often rant, and send incoherent insults. I doubt very much that they will do anything at all.

Personally, I never bother replying tit for tat, to insults or threats online, it's ultimately pointless.
