Made a mistake

Ok this post is to a few people who replied to one of my other posts about buying a NS125R.
Shamefully im happy to admit maybe most of you was right.
I explained i couldnt afford 5 6 700 for a bike out right therefor buying the NS125R was my only option as i could pay by installments.

Today i recieve a letter telling me ive been accepted for a 2 grand credit card.Ok stop laughing i know i know i now can afford a decent bike out right.Only problem is ive given 200 cash to the owner of the NS125R an now cant get my money back :S.

So todays leason is dont be an impatient prick like me listen to some peopels advice an you mite not make mistakes.

Proper gutted cus ive seen a real nice NSR125RR on ebay for £1000.
Ah well mebbie i can pay for the bike an pass it on in couple of months an buy a better bike

I wouldn't go out and put 1k on a credit card that I couldn't pay off anyway. Just get the ns125 and save up or get a loan which has a semi good chance of having a half decent interest rate.

yeah, but now at least you're not forking out hundreds of pounds in interest on a credit card.

Believe me, those things are dangerous. I've been there, and now 2 years later I'm still spending 1/3rd of my salary just paying off debts

The Cheap NS is in many ways a perfect bike to learn on. I would say stick with it.

Hmm i actualy have 1 thousand loan allready cant rem the apr but the card offered is 13.9% thats pretty good isnt it with nothing to pay untill 2007 ?.

Altho think it mite get cut up i aint making another stupid mistake.

Kinda change of subject but some 1 asked me the qoutation i got for the NS125R

Bennettes say 320 i thought this was pretty damn good after a few others tried in the 400s.

Any one heard no or have experience with RampDale

Hi

13.9% is not good (a loan would probably be at under half that rate). Could get expensive. Often the "nothing to pay until 2007" type deals do not apply to cash advances.

The NSR does offer a little bit over the NS, but not a massive amount.

They're both decent bikes, so I'd stick with the cheaper NS .

Ah thanks all ok as i havent had bike in 3 years maybe its best to keep the older one.I can now atleast pay the other 400 on it so i dont have to wait an can get it much sooner.

Lads im 17 stone you seen the prices of padded trousers never mind leathers an i can only see a max size 40 waist on p&s Fat biker site needed

P.s i dont wanan start an arguement so please dont reply to this part, But my other thread about buying the bike for £700 90% said it wasnt worth it an its a shit peace.Now the advice is keep the older one now i got it an dont bother with a new one (You ppl cant have it both ways) He he just jokes

Remember, for a start we're talking about you spending £500 on a bike not £700 - and err, I didn't actually see the original post, so my opinion is probably a bit invalid .

Also cheaper insurance etc.

Contacted Rampdale insurance is £190 this is the best offer so far.

Anyone have experience with them ? tbh i dont think i can get lower or shall i try the blag.He said this much htey said that much now you gonna beat them !!!.Or take that offer while i can

im with rampdale and they seem to be pritty good for me they gave me the cheapist quote by far for brand new 2005 NSR125RR with 1 years no claims bonus, TPFT for only £420 with £300 excess where as other companies where givin me prices in the region of £1200+ £700 excess

The bike is ok for the money, but you could have done better if you waited. Now that you've got the bike you may aswell keep it. You'll get most of your cash back - they seem to be fairly steady in value.

If i were you, i'd go for the test asap. I intend on shifting my cagiva as soon as i pass my test, which i'll book as soon as there's £60 lying around.

I thought my 125 was fast when i got it. 2 weeks later it's underpowered.

That insurance quote kicks ass, too!

We did say don't go for it, but if you were paying £1000 for that or £2000 for a newish one on the credit card, I think we'd recommend the old one still.

Credit cards are like the devil, it's the worst way to borrow money.
