I am only going to uni really for the experience and its the only course i have ever seen. Accountancy & Entrepreneurship, i will probably then do my chartered accountancy modules and then set up. AFAIK they don't really do apprentice accounts and if they do it will be working at the bottom of a company. I would rather go all out take a risk and set up myself.

I will have office space and the overheads will not be too bad.

No. They are 9% of your NIC-able income above £15k a year actually.

I know that no one will be able to change your mind, but, I reckon you'll be disappointed with the whole 'uni' experience.

Yeah great for the first few weeks, but then you get pissed off with these 'new mates' who arent really your mates, they're just people you hang around with coz you dont know anyone else.

You get fucked off with your house mates, because they never clean up after themselves and wake you up every night at 3am.

Youve got no money, you're desperate for a decent meal, your rooms a mess, theres no space to swing a cat.
You cant buy any nice things.

If you're going for 'the experience', then I think you'll be wasting a few years.

Just speaking from my own experience.

EDIT: and its the years I wasted that pisses me off more than the money I wasted.

When you're at Uni mate you'll be more then happy to put up with your parents ranting just for warm, decent food, clean and ironed clothes, a garage (I miss mine soo much - its my haven).

When your at Uni you'll really appreciate the time you spend with your family at weekends and christmas.

You've only got 8 months to go, the time will fly by.

WR Thumbs Up

(ps if your sisters fit I can take her off your hands for a little while Very Happy )

Don't be such a pussy.

You want a credit card, or a loan, or a big overdraft, get it. You fuck up and spend it all, you're stupid, and you'd better figure out a way to get out of debt.

Like anything else, see a credit card as a tool. If you don't have enough self control to use one wisely, learn some self control. Everyone else does.

I was at boarding school for 4 years and one year only went home 3 times. I can deal with being by myself (although uni will be alot more freedom)

Don't get a card, im 2.5k in debt because i couldnt pay the 1.5k it originally was and i got charges and now its been frozen but still not paying it, why the fuck should i, i cant get credit for another 4 years, then i can, means buying everything with cash out my own pocket, and thats how life should be.

Example this week ill get about 220.00, igot 115 in the bank, want some wheels that are 140 quid, my car insurance is 80.00, board for my old dear is 120, would be easier to bung it on card so i don't have to live off a tenner for the rest of the week, but its better that way Smile

Can second that. I got a credit card from them having just finished my A levels, with no guaranteed income whatsoever. Just put 'self-employed' in their online form and put a random number in the earnings box. Job done, had a card inside a week. Razz

Tbh I'll probably only get a credit card for buying stuff over the net(and by the way I dont really know shit about this kinda stuff, so if there are other ways of getting stuff over the net maybe I'll go for them instead). I'm gonna try to buy everything in cash, I've always been pretty good with money, I never spend more than I have really, I always have enough left over to get myself out of trouble if needs be. My dad generally does this, pays for most stuff in cash and doesnt really bother with a card that much.

They're not the ones spending the money. Yes, they might offer a credit facility if you ask for one but with that offer comes the expectation that YOU will take personal responsibility and exert sensible self control in the way you use that facility. I don't see where the trickery comes into play except where people get in a hole because they've overspent or whatever other reason and then try to absolve themselves of all responsibility.

Hopefully won't notice that £30 a month going to dial a phone. Laughing

I actually put in my bank details for direct debit and used my dads credit card (not even sure if its active) as it said i needed to have one and wouldnt accept my visa electron. Not sure which it is going to debt, i think my account.

Have to get it delivered to my next door office as these websites never have mine on their system. Middle Finger

Got a v3i, wanted the v3x but nowhere seems to have it.
