I keep getting texts saying i'm £15 overdue. A few days ago they sent me a letter saying i have to pay it.

What if you watch t.v on you're pc?

Nah - look on the TV licensing website, it's explicitly stated that a licence is required for TV cards, which is fair enough when you think about it, you're not licensing the lump of plastic and the glass screen, you're licensing it's abilities.

If you mean on the internet, then you're fine, as the BBC don't broadcast BBC channels over the net.

I'll be damned if I'm getting a licence when I go to university. I haven't really used my TV in months (yet I bought a DVD recorder/Freeview box yesterday) Doh! I tend just to download what I like on the laptop. So I'll either take the risk or not use one at all!

They seemed a bit lonely and misunderstood in their letters, so in the end I wrote them a nice letter back inviting them 'round for a check-up and some tea and cookies. Never heard back them after that, for some reason. Maybe I shouldn't have told them I was out of milk Rolling Eyes .
