Im thinking about buying one of these brandnew at the weekend but i havent heard of the make MBK. I really like the colours on it tho. Does anyone have one of these as i would like to know if it is any good. How fast will it go and can it be de-restricted.

My friend had a MBK Ovetto 2002. It had a yamaha engine in it. Derestricted by the clutch, and opening the exhaust and taking everything out of it and welding it closed again.

About 47 derestricted.

Do you really need a brand new scooter? You're going to lose so much money after the first year.

yep i had one befor my zxr400.

mine with the restrictors out did 55mph,,,, put a race can on and it will go faster..

they look cool and dont sound too bad. but dont get a new one as the lose the value very fast..

Good little scooters, MBK is Yamaha, or posibly the other way round! Its exactly the same bike as a Yamaha Aerox. Tons of parts to make them go faster and the have one of the most tuneable engines of any 50 out there.

I reckon your better off buying a second hand one as it will cost half the price of a new one.

i finally got my mbk nitro 50 but i only have one problem. i cannot figure out how to open the boot. any help would be much apprichiated.

If you mean the underseat storage, try turning the key in the ignition, anti-clockwise.

Check out your manual then; there's a chance the mechanism is just broken. That's the only way I've ever seen it done on scooters.

Try either pushing the key in and turning left, or just turning it left without the pushing.

On mine, in and left puts on the steering lock, left on it's own opens the 'boot'.
