GSX750F engine wanted - or may part out instead

Hi, I have a nice 1997 GSX750F (the model with the black fairing and purple seat) - lovely tourer/ commuter, but it has just developed a nasty engine rattle. Any one got a decent engine I could put in it? Ideally not a gixxer cos it don't really have the ability to handle that amount of grunt (in fact, neither do I to be honest!)
Alternatively I might sell it as a real easy project for someone or I might even be persuaded to part it out if enough people want bits.
Please reply with suggestions (preferably not too rude thank you).
The bike is currently in Stafford, near Jcn 14 on the M6 but it has current tax & MOT and can be ridden/ delivered if somebody wants it.

Thanks, took a little while to get registered properly but it looks mildly hopeful. Mind you, I do find their house style hard to manage as I am a crusty old pensioner!

Let me know if you decide to break it, theres a couple of bits I might be interested in.

Is it the main bearings that have gone?

Do you know if its a long or short engine? Reason I ask is that I know a guy that has the bottom end of a GSXF600, I think this is the same as the short 750.

Not sure what's gone Marki - or if it is a long or short lump! And I'd prefer to sell the lot rather than part it out myself. I know that's a lot less wonga, but I don't really have the time or space to be parting it out myself.

There's an opportunity here for someone to make themselves a few wonga, or sort out a nice tourer in time for the good weather we're expecting in a coupla months or so (global warming and all that). It's still nice ti ride, altho the battery has gone flat sitting on the driveway - I will recharge it shortly and have few last runs for the hell of it.

Done a bit of research and it is the '88-'97 model 73.0mm stroke (cf the later 70.0mm stroke engine) I guess this makes it the long stroke version.

Not sure it will fit, just ask on oldskoolsuzuki. Looks like all the important bits are there,might be worth it?

BTW I don't think you live too far from Keith, (kickstart). The bloke knows a lot about bikes, he might be able to tell you how terminal the rattle is.
