Hi there

I dropped my bike , normally all that happens is that I bend my levers but I snapped my foot peg , I replaced it with one from a junk yard sans the spring since its off a different bike since a replacement original people wanted £50 , the replacement was £5 btw , does it need to be sprung to the horizontal position to pass an MOT? ,

right now gravity seems to do the job in putting it back to the horizontal position , but as said the MOT date is approaching soon (its an NTV650 btw so if there are cheaper footpegs that can be sprung which the cheapie replacement one can't since its too big)

any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi

Cannot see any reason why it would need to be, and there are bikes around with non sprung folding front footrests as standard.

All the best

Keith

How often do you drop your bike?

Well as Sickpup says NTVs are only for big blokes and I ain't that big a bloke (just over 10.5 stone) smaller people <13 stone 5.8 tend to drop them alot , but in 2005 three times , in 2006 once , which was a seriously steep hill , which I didn't really drop but tipped too far , held up as long as poss and let down gently the slope caught the foot peg

It's the same footrest as on the Bros and on a few other Honda bikes (I know one of their big trailies use them). If you find someone selling individual footrests on eBay you will probably pick one up for a fiver.

Which side footrest is it? I bought a LHS one off 'DukeRed' on this forum. It's a long shot, but he might still have the spare RHS one lying around.
