Nose bleeds

I have never had a nose bleed in my life but I just got ready to go out and one has started now no matter what I do it isnt stopping. Shocked

I have pinched it tilted my head back.

At the moment I got a bit of tissue rammed up there.

Any Idea's, parents at work so no one else to ask Shocked

Probably late now, but tilt your head forwards, not backwards.

It's better for the blood to come out than go down your throat.

Get a tissue and sit down, hold the tissue under the nose to collect the blood (but don't ram it up there!).

Pinch just under the bone of the nose, not to seal the nose shut, just apply pressure.

Tilt your head forwards to avoid choking on the blood.

I get one a year ish at complete random for no reason, usually at an inopportune time.

My nosebleeds are legendary whichever Very Happy

I remember getting clouted round the nose by some girl in about year 8, and cos the teacher got moody hacking up bloody spitballs all over the white walls, whiteboard, etc.

Pleasant child that i was.

my mum always stood by an old wives tale of placing something cold on your back which sounds like sh!te but seemed to work.

I used to get em after I had a cold. I would get about 3 a day for no reason. got some drop from the docs that cured it. Quite pleased about coz if the drops hadn't worked I would have had to have my nose cauterised! Shocked

I used to get them really badly and for ages when I was younger.

Now they just trickle for a few minutes, I get them when I'm hot or stressed.

I get them fairly often, as in once every month or so. It can get expensive, as I've woken up before with one, the bedsheet covered in blood. Shocked

Felt like I was in The Godfather. Laughing

I have a higher than average blood pressure, so I suppose that's a contributing factor. I find spicy foods also can occasionally give me one; they do that to my dad as well, so no surprise there!
