Sorry for the rant but I need someone to listen as the shit wipes that attempt to pretend they are performing 'customer service' dont appear to give a shit.

Trouble started when my gf ordered the xbox360 back in october. that was a long drawn out affair, including paying for pre-xmas guaranteed delivery and not getting it - got the 50 quid back but if we had a crying kid on xmas morning it would have been little consolation.

Today I have found out an item I ordered two weeks ago has been despatched on monday and hasnt turned up. Now I have to wait 14 days before it is missing.

I tried to buy this item over the counter twice but couldnt as their machines were down and I couldnt use my reward points.

Now Im not sure if thats whats made me bitter or the sheer face that they have. Their website is rubbish, but what it does tell you is that an item will be despatched in 24 hours before you order - it then turns to 3 weeks once you have committed. Its a big fat liar! The site wont allow you to send them a shitty email either, instead reccomending you phone them up instead.

Why when I use HMV do I get treated like shit? Any customer services you receive are terrible, the guy on the phone tonight obviously didnt give a hoot, and an email my gf managed to get through came back with the part of the webpage that asks you to phone up cut and pasted into it!

So anyway there isnt much point to this rant apart from the fact they are going on my bad list, along with sony, my local honda dealers and U2.

For those interested in actually being told the truth and getting good service from an online supplier I suggest to give HMV a wide berth and head for play.

HMV your days are numbered Evil or Very Mad

Feel better now.

Wink

I went in there the other day. They have very little variety unless you want a James Blunt CD and they are extremely pricey. I can't understand how they can stay in business with decent sites around like CD Wow. We are constantly warned about pirating music but why the feck should I pay £15 for a CD.

Think Ill stick with Play.com for now!

I agree with Villers. playcom are a good reliable service. I even have one of their branded mp3 players.

Hiya,

HMV have moved to Guersey, which would explain why their deliveries have been crap recently.

My GF bought me a 2 Pints box set for Christmas, and I have broken the discs in them twice, HMV didn't complain and sent me 2 extra copies with no extra charge.

I also bought GUN for the 360 from HMV, took it back, they didn't even look at the receipt, just handed me £50 (1p profit yay) and that was it.

I understand that the gurnsey thing might upset the postage but lets not forget where Play.com delivers from. I havent bought a cd/DVD/game from a highstreet store since I got broadband 2 years ago, once the internet has finally taken over the world and people no longer buy such items in shops I hope that the robbers such as HMV/virgin/etc get exactly whats coming to them. anyone who has seen/used HMV.co.uk will know that its a piece of lying shit ('Item usually despatched within 3 weeks' I dont like the use of the word usually) and once they are solely dependant upon it their time will come. Shove it up your arse HMV and get ober yourselves you arent 'Top Dog'

Ordered the Lost DVD from them, whenever I've ordered a dvd from anywhere online, I've generally received it within 2-3 days, if not next day. HMV took nearly a month to send it out!

Unfortunately I don't think that HMV will be going anywhere soon. There as still too many plebs who wander around the high street. They want a CD so they goto HMV, or Virgin.
These same people then get t'interweb at home. They want to buy a CD online, so again, they goto HMV or Virgin.

Until the the masses start to shop around for the best deal, HMV wont really give a toss about the small number of people that they piss off.

I avoid the place as their CD's are way over priced. Why pay £15.99 for an album, when I can buy it from ASDA for £9.97?

I suspect some of it is convenience, like garage shops. You know you can go out of your way and get it cheaper or spend a bit more and get it now which is alot easier. Thumbs Up

I ordered a DVD online for my dad for christmas and it came within a few days and was by far the cheapest around.

However I dont normally shop there as the staff are pricks who put the music on too loud and everything normally is twice the price it should be.

Have to say I have never had a problem with them, but I have never tried their online shop. The Newcastle store will get you any CD you want as long as it is still made without a charge for the special order Thumbs Up Saying that Ebay is my first port of call if I want CDs now.

GAME are poor these days as well in my opinion. I had to return my Simpsons season 4 DVD twice, because the first 2 times it was either creased inside or one of the DVDs themselves was cracked!

A friend also pre-ordered an XBox 360 from them in August; she still hasn't got it. Rolling Eyes

Play.com are generally amazing for me; but my 24 boxse arrived this morning and 2 of the plastic holders for the discs are cracked. Even though it'd be free to sort it out, it's a lot of hassle, so I don't think I'll bother.
