Hi

As above. The engine is basically the same. Not much else (ignition and carbs).

All the best

the rs250 is slightly quicker than the rgv and of course it is a much newer bike so shud have better brakes etc. Though in my opinion the rgv looks the dogs so I would get one of them. They are quite sought after these days tho. whatver you get look after it and maintain it well Thumbs Up

As far as I'm aware, there's not much difference - mechanically - between the two bikes. The way I'd always remembered it, is that the RGV has more top end power than the RS but loses out on lower range i.e. the RGV isn't as easy to ride on the roads as the RS (which in itself isn't an easy going road bike). More than that I'm not sure if any other differences really present themselves. Both look pretty nice if cared for. The main reason I went for theRS is it has the sexy curves, and the RGV tail unit is just bulky and boxy and has too many right angles on it - something which I really hate on bikes. That and the fact that I always wanted a priller. But get a decent rider on either and they're both fairly rapid - definitley fun Smile.

RS should have a touch more power (but reality is that the difference is tiny compared to the effects of needing a good service). RS frame, brakes and suspension are better.

All the best

Most rgv calipers will be in a sorry state by now, those Tokico's always seem to go off with age.

The RS250 has about 5-10 bhp more, depending on what model you have.

They also have a much more sorted frame, suspension and forks.

Plus, RS250s were in production til 2002/3 so you can get very new ones and there are even some pre-registered zero milage ones available.

RS250s also have an awesome dash that's got lap time, top speed, average speed, programmable Rev limiter and Shift light.

Defititely a better bike, and IMO much nicer and sleeker.

Yes, I had one! Very Happy

I like goldfish bowls.
Particularly sleek and sexy and aerodynamic ones.
Better than two wheeled bricks Razz .
Besides, it's only the new RS's thatlook like goldfish bowls - the old oneslook like basking sharks Cool Thumbs Up .

Three spoke wheels disgust me.
So do big chunky tail units that look like someone tried to shove a crate of beer under there.
