Too big for a 125?

Hey guys, just wondering if i am too big for a 125cc such as honda nsr etc?. i am 6ft 2. will this be a problem. thanks in advance. Very Happy

nah i wouldnt say so, im 6 foot 4 and i can ride my mates rs 125 quite comfortably. Thumbs Up

Im a big git too and i had an RS125, i had no problems with it atall..

Most other sports 125's will have similar seat heights, NSR's etc, so you should be fine.

If u feel uncomfortable riding a sports bike type then ur size would be more suited to a super moto perhaps? but im pretty sure youll be alright on a sports bike, just rember it fucks ur back in first couple of rides no matter what size u are.... or at least it did to me and everyone i no on a sports bike.

weight could be a problem if you are overweight. there was a guy who did das with me and when he was on a sr125, it really struggled moving away and with balance

thats a 4 stroke

i dont think a 2 stroke wd be a problem as they are more stable and have more power

The best thing would be to look for an offroadish bike, supermoto, or a honda varadero, they are rediculously tall for a 125 (i'm 5'8" and was struggleing) that way you'll not look like a bear rideing a squirrel Wink

Look at the Honda Varadero 125, it was my first bike and am 6ft 3.

Im 6 ft 4 and im ok on my mates RS125 . You should be fine , but dont get a CBR 125 , They're tiny.

they still have the same 2 wheels. Infact my Mz 125 4t has wider tyres and rims than any RS 125, and is perfectly happy at 80+ MPH. Don't generalise about entire groups of bikes, especially if you are basing it on stupid criteria like engine type affecting balance...

Plus the fact I am getting on for 16 stone and am 6ft 2'. I would have far more trouble pulling away on a rev happy 2t than a 4t.

yeah, ok, but saying that it is BECAUSE it is a 4 stroke is way off. What about a sachs XTC, a sportsbike with a 4t 125, used to have a 2t in it? My MZ, the only thing seperating that from being a proper supermoto is a lack of a 600cc thumper motor...

Just to say, generalising about the style of bike is a bad idea, 4t 125 motors are put into learner style bikes precisely because they are easier to ride than 2t 125. It does not instantly mean that the bike is of inferior design.

im 6"1 and i fitted nicly on mine when i had it. will seem small now tho as i got abigger bike but for a first bike it will feel like your only about 4" tall when you first sit on it Laughing

A lot of the 125cc bikes do tend to be on the small side but there are some larger ones available such as the honda varadero 125cc as mentioned earlier, theres also the honda cityfly.

I started off with am off road 125cc scrambler when i was 14 and they were bigger than the 125's you get now...at least thats how i remember it...or maybe i just grew....probably Laughing

Depending on your circumstances another option could be to get a larger bike and have it restricted to 33bhp if your not legal to ride full power.
