Hi
Picked up my new bike today, which brings my collection to a healthy 3 Very Happy.

https://i5.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/39/55/b7_1_b.JPG

Suzuki RMX 250 two stroke, pretty much an enduro bike road legal taxed MOT'd etc, only road it on the roads back so no uber funnage yet, but cant wait to start buying motorcross'y things.

suddenly the pointed chin and googles style is more appealing to me Mr. Green .

When you say 'stock up on motorcrossie things' do you mean a good supply of pistons and barrells!!! Very Happy

Enjoy it though, apparently, good off roading is supposed to be better then a shag with a top class hooker, so I've heard. Shocked

Embarassed Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but a bill was passed by the House of Commons a month or so ago, it made the use of all 'unsurfaced' roads, i.e. green lanes, illegal to use by 'recreational' vehicles.

Not sure when it comes into effect, but when it does, green laning in anything other than a tractor will render you a criminal. Shocked

What a fucking joke of a government we have. Middle Finger

If you do have desires for screwing up a MX bike, 2 mile flat out straights, and shit loads of sand would probably be just what you need!!

Stick to the dirty stuff, won't need quite as many pistons or a salt removing fluids!

Is a bit or a problem recently with the dibble getting strict on it.

Best bet is try to find people who ride off road already and ask for advice. There will be sites that can be used, remember, it's just public areas that have been restricted.

Send an email to someone at the TRF or get friendly with a local farmer, 'Need your field ploughing mate?' Laughing

We found a place while mountain biking that we were thinking of having a play in some time.

Quite near you.

Nothing serious, but should be ok for a bit of fun.

Not all lanes and not yet it only applies to certain categories of roads for example RUPPS which do not have proven rights for vehicles.

Use them but use them carefully, and do your research. The local council office will have definitive maps you can look at which show all legal routes, and going to TRF meets will be a great help to meet up with fellow responsible riders.

Just don't get tempted to have a blast off the tracks and keep damage to a minimum 'cause it's the muppets that spoil it for the rest of us....

Mike

P.S. If you ever see a Ragtop Camel Landrover out in the welsh hills stop and say hello Wink

Thats good to hear Mike, all is not lost as yet then.

I'll be keeping an eye on the TRF website to familiarise myself with any more developments on the issue.

So much for a free country. Rolling Eyes

Sweet Luke, that should be great fun. Having been to a couple of Enduros I would say they are well worth the entry fee (£40 I think Matchams was, and that's a fantastic track), I just wish I had the bike for it. Sad

For some info on tracks have a look at these:
https://adrenalintrip.extreme.com/forum/viewforum/89?siteid=1&534224
https://www.tmxnews.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=3450&ArticleID=1194349

Even if you don't think there's much around near you, the chances are there's a fair few smaller clubs around who do mx/enduro stuff.

It's only illegal if you get caught.

It's that sort of attitude that will lead to us all being banned !! Rolling Eyes

Otherwise go ahead and give all the bobblehatted red sock brigade more ammunition, but don't say I didn't tell you so.
