I'll find out soon (Im positive they're constant 4wd, but I'll ask to make sure), my lil bro had one for off roading, so he wont know top speeds but I know they go anywhere a landrover will! Mr. Green Thumbs Up

He never had any problems, except for when going through water, cos obviously not a diesel (needed a snorkle kit). Thumbs Up

They are NOT constant 4 wheel drive (i have owned both types) they have a Hi/Lo ratio box with 2wd or 4wd selectable with manual locking front hubs.
they are VERY usable off road but are a little underpowered , on the road don't expect to cruise over about 50 it gets very loud and your MPG plunges , the SJ 410 is 1000CC and the SJ413 is 1300 cc

in my opinion they are probably the best vehicles suzuki ever built
i used them to work in the forestry for years and they would often go where much more expensive 4X4 would'nt

There are different types as well. There are the Suzuki made ones and the spainish Santana made ones. The later Satana made ones are a lot better many using the later Vitara engine and drive train.

They are let down off road by the standard tyres so fit something better.

The SJ410 in its modded form will no doubt match a defender on trials etc, but a 90 or a defender will take you most places you wish to go without the extra mods or lift kits that are required for the SJ, saying that they are a lot of fun to throw around.

I'm just a tad biased, I have 3 Landies inc a 65 series11a which is excellent off road.

have a good time in it if you get it, but remember take it easy on the greenlanes cos it only gives the anti brigade ammunition to ban all vehicles from them.
