Thumbs down for febreeze, it masks the smell for maybe 48hours at the most. The stuff really is scented water, thats it. Don't waste your money.

Another vote for dry cleaning. Thumbs Up

Time riding in smoke free air is the only way, NO airfreshener removes smells as they claim, they simply mask it.

I think you'll find that the smeel is in the lining, not the leather itself. I'd vote for dry cleaning as it will clean the liner effectively and won't hurt the leather.

Glad to see the smoking ban has gone through as well, mind you, that wouldn't change purchases made on Ebay.

Cheers

If you can turn them inside out you could have a go at the lining with a sponge or cloth damped with soapy water.
The smell will soon reduce anyway, but have notied a tendency for aromas to resurface if you go somewhere warm e.g. pub.

What about putting them in the freezer for 24-hours?

I've heard people say this kills of smelly gloves etc, so why wouldn't it work with leathers???

Put them on a warm radiator - it's the old dodge for clothing after a night out.

Keep a bowl of malt vinegar near them. It absorbs the smell of fags. And cheaper than dry cleaning Thumbs Up
