why ? please help

i just bought my yamaha aerox 2nd hand. i couldent get it to start the eletrick start just dident seem to get enought power. so we used the kick start and we finally got it too work, but after i let go of the trottle it just cuts out why that? i havent drove it yet cos i have to wait for my birthday .

later on i tried to start it up it was fine both eletrick and kick. but it then cut out and then i tried to restart but it just wouldent start and still does not work. please can you help i only just bought it and i really love the bike.
