Depends.

RS125 and NSR125 - 2 stroke, fast fun but not as reliable as say a

CBR125 - 4 stroke, not as fast, but reliable.

The RS125 is faster.

I would steer clear of a Mito unless you have the time to keep it well maintained and in tip top shape.

Thumbs Up Karma

RS125 gets my vote.

NSR is too skinny and not as fast (IMO)

MITO i dont know much about so cant realy comment.

CBR as mentioned already is a 4stroke so will not give the same performance as the others but "should" be more reliable in the long run.

it depends what your looking for;
rs/mito + the looks, handling and speed, plenty around
- high maintenance costs, expensive insurance and parts

nsr +not much lol......may be slightly more reliable due to honda, less power etc
- quite rare, slow, ugly IMO, geting old now

Get a mito m8. You probably wont wanna keep your 125 for too long anyway so as long as you get a good one and treat it well it should last until you sell it on. Never had a problem with mine. Bloody fast for a 125 and sexier than kelly brook Laughing

Anything except the CBR. If you're looking for a slow, reliable commuter, the CBR is the best choice out of those. But you might as well get a CG instead. If you're looking for a fast 2 stroke like all the others on that list; it really comes down to personal preference, they're all massively similar. Personally I'd say the NSR, as the reliability seems to be slightly better, and they have only very slightly less power than the RS or the Mito.

If your budget is fairly limited, steer clear of the Mito though. The earlier Mitos have horrific build quality. They sorted it in the more recent bikes though.

NSR skinny, i think not the CBR is skinny and the NSR is about the same width as the RS, i have an NSR so i'm biased.

Although the new RS looks good.

I think the 4-strokes are a safer bike than the 2 strokes, which should be your first consideration, in that they have less acceleration but more "Horse Pulling Power", especially going up hill. Also they are much more reliable.

just going on comparing 18_stuart_88's old NSR with his new RS.

Mito or RS if you want to go so fast you end up stuck to the front of a bus with your limited CBT-approved road experience (although before you get to the bus you'll have to rebuild the engine several times)

NSR if you want to go fast enough to still get hurt by the bus, but you'll beat the RS or Mito there whilst they're on the roadside trying to order a new top-end. Also when you drop/crash the bike new parts are pretty cheap.

CBR125 if you want to go slow, ride a motorbike with tyres that make pushbikes look fat, BUT still have enough money left over from buying it new to pay for your RS/Mito owner mate's garage bills Wink

Basically RS or Mito for speed at the expense of reliability, NSR for a little less speed but a LOT more reliability and good parts avaliability (sort of a compromise between performance 2ts and reliable 4ts), or a CBR125 for cheapness and ultra-reliability.

Looks wise, I'm biased but I always did love the NSR's twin headlights (hence why I went for one), mito 2nd and the overweight RS 3rd. CBR125s are just too skinny Sad

Up to you though, not the sort of thing you want to rush into.

Jon
