I dont know anything about scoots at all realy,

But by the sounds of it you are running very rich. Does it smell funny when its idling? Either a petrol or eggy kind of smell?

Check that your choke isnt stuck on... I know some have auto chokes but somehow check that it isnt on constantly?

Hope this is some help, dont realy have a great knowlege base about scoot engines at all, but its a start Thumbs Up

is it air or water cooled............could be water from a head gasket.
If its fuel coming through the exhaust, possible broken reed valves. ive had this on a yamaha jogrr........wouldnt start, ran poorly.....the reeds were snapped.

dont worry its not a stupid question Smile A reed valve controls the flow of mixture from the carburettor. It usually gives better fuel economy as it only delivers the mixture to the barrell when its needed, theye give good throttle response and thats basically a reed valve!

i dont think its the reed valves as the bike starts fine and there is good throtle response, the engine runs fine until it is being full throttles and then after a few seconds it cuts out and the revs go right down but the engine never stops

Shager

Look at it like this. You had a CG125 that you wanted to sell that had no ignition. An NSR125 that you asked how to hot-wire, a DT125 with a contradictory story about how you got it that you wanted to know how to hot-wire. You've also advertised that you want a field bike, V5 not needed. Now you have a Firefox.

You've only been on the forum for a little over a month.

If you heard this how would it look to you?

Now I'm not accusing you of being a thief I'm asking you to look at your posts and understand why people may think you are.

Ok it's a phantom F12 not a Firefox. Now read what I wrote and take heed of why you're getting so much bad karma and sarcastic replies.

what air filter is fitted?
the standard one is restrictive and the carb is set up for it, but an after market (sporty type) lets through lots more air, same as if the original was removed, the carb cant cope with that much air (too lean) and wont rev up.
btw, to clean the carb properly you must remove it and strip it to access the jets, squirting carb cleaner into it wont do the job.

The air filter should be wet (if its a foam filter)- on a 2 stroke you can just get it moist with 2 stroke oil. Unless its a (paper) K&N style one. Then it should be dry.
