There for im going to buy a bigger bike,

Is it worth taking out finance on say a GSXR600 or a ZXR400?

might sell my rs 125 in the summer

Be quick with replys as im going to order some stuff for my 125 and if u think i should take finance ill keep my money and get a bigger bike...

I would take any sort of loan unless you really have to mate.

What condition is your RS in? If its in reasonable nick you would probably be better selling that off now.

Do you really need to keep it as a winer hack? Winter is pretty much over now. It might be a little cold and wet but we'rewover the worst of it.

Even if you do really want a winter hack, I wouldn't use the RS. Get something off ebay after summer (cheap time) with 3 or 4 months tax ands mot left on it. That'll get you through winter and you really don't need to spend more that £500.

With regard to the finance, I wouldn't bother, you're better off buying private with as much cash saved as you can. If you haven't got enough borrow on credit cards. Apply for two, withdraw the cash on one (at 20% or whatever), then transfer the balance at a 0% offer for 6 months. This should allow you to pay back whatever deficit you borrowed intrest free, as long as you do it within the 6 months obviously.

I took out a loan to buy my R6, wanted to enjoy the summer and do some trackdays this year, and I couldn't wait and save up as i'm impatient! Don't regret it at all, can afford the repayments and still have over £500 disposable income a month so I'm happy. Up to the individual though.

Personally I'd steer clear of finance deals and go for an unsecured loan.

As above, and if you do need finance, get an unsecured loan from a bank - usually cheaper and if you default on payments you still keep the bike!

Googs are u indicating that my safety awareness might not be up to scratch because of what i said?.

If so then u are wrong i meant that as a figure of speach, implying that i dont like to look to far into the future and worry all the time, there are many more things i can do with my life other than stress my self out lol.

Other than that im still looking at bikes and im still unsure what to get i would rather buy a bigger bike before i do my test as it will motivate me to get it done cus ill prob just think ill do it next week and so on and so on..

Cheers

I wouldn't like finance because if you crash the bike or right it off then you will have no bike & still paying for it each month...

I'd steer clear of credit as much as possible. It's a millstone round your neck while you pay it off.

Only if;

1) You're sure you can pay the monthly payments comfortably
2) Your situation won't change (secure job)
3) Your bike will be insured fully comprehensive
4) You get a good deal *

* Don't get the finance from the bike shop, unless they are offering 0% (occasionally the manufacturers offer it on new bikes). Try https://www.moneysupermarket.com/ for an idea of what's on offer from different banks / building societies.
