Hi

Be fair, its only 22% Wink .

To be honest I would say just change supplier. I do work for another electric and gas supplier so to avoid any hint of bias I am not going to suggest anyone.

If you get both gas and electric from the same supplier then you should get a reasonable discount. Same for paying by direct debit.

There are a few web sites around that show how much it will save with various suppliers. However do not take these at face value. Remember that they are getting paid to transfer you to another supplier. There is no reason at all why they cannot push you towards a supplier cheaper than you current one but which gives them the most commision (just like bike insurance). For example you are with supplier A, supplier B will save you 10% and pay the site a £40 fee, supplier C will save you 20% and pay the site a £20 fee. They are quite probably going to show you supplier B (but if you were already with B then they will show you C).

All the best

Keith

What about all their adverts saying they've locked their prices until 2007 or whenever? Confused

People on the "no price increase till 2010" tarriff will probably not have their price go up (they were rediculously high to start with, to be honest).

Anyone not on the fixed tariff will have their price increase.

Hi

Suspect even the locked in tarifs have some kind of get out clause in them somewhere.

All the best

1. The service and gas providing sectors are seperate
2. Not all the van drivers are crazy (i.e. me)

the funny thing is recently i had someone from british gas asking me to change supplier to them. i said no. they said 'so you arent interested in saving money ?' i said no, thinking that from what i know of british gas they are probably a bit more expensive. she then grumbled about stupid people not wanting to save money Smile

mind you i bet my supplier puts up their prices soon to match Smile

Hi

Don't just pick a single supplier for everyone. Southern are just EdF and overall I don't think there is anything special about their rates.

Generally you are best off avoiding you old local electricity supplier.

All the best
