Yeah, I loved how the media neglected to tell us that these kids had just fired mortars at the troops before getting that well deserved beating. Of course the commentator doesn't make the case look any better but in my opinion if you are willing to attack then you should be willing to have seven bells kicked out of you when it goes wrong.

Whatever. Just because they're unarmed non-combatants are they allowed to get away with lobbing bricks at soldiers because they're under the impression nothing will happen to them? Not condoning it, but it's easy to jump on the moral high ground without being under that pressure... something similar to the what the US troops experienced with civilians in Vietnam I expect.

Might sound cruel, but I don't really have a problem with what they did. Looked pretty vicious but they would have been well within their rights (under international law I suspect) to return fire with live rounds. A swift kicking may actually save the lives of the little Shi'ites (see what I did there?) by deterring them from future incidents like this, decreasing the chance of them getting slotted by a squaddie fed up of being targetted himself.

Those in glass houses - if you want to go around throwing bricks and Mortar shells - a good rule of thumb is not to do it to the heavily armed western soldiers who have demolished your armed forces twice!

what happened before the beating was a riot outside a british army base in basra, where iraqi's threw rocks, homemade grenades into the compound

yeah they were british , its british desert dpm theres too much brown on it to be US but unfortunatley the powers above will not look kindly on this sort of thing , i think the same as a lot of people if they throw rocks, one day whats to say there wont be a grenade in there , i`ve got a few mates just come beck form a tour out there and they`ve said this sort of thing happens all the time out there , what they dont belive in is some tw*t videoing it , thats just evedence lol
