I don't get scary moments, concussion means you usually forget the last few seconds of your ride... Rolling Eyes Wink

Nah, when I get one I slow right down afterwards, because I know what the feeling's like when it *does* go wrong (it hurts, a lot, and costs a lot). One of the worst recent ones was caining it round a very slight right hand bend and feeling the whole bike slip at about 80mph Shocked Wasn't a lot, but it felt scary as!

Take it easy if you're getting them a lot, otherwise you will end up finding out what the next step from a close-call is!

Had one last friday. There is some road resurfacing going on on this road I use, so there is loads of loose gravel and massive bumps about.

I go to turn left off the road and try to avoid a big old bump while I was turning when suddenly the rear end slides out on this loose gravel.
I thought it was going to go down on the lefthand side. Luckily I regained control and got away with it! But it gave me a fright though!

I sometimes get a twitch on one of the roads that I use for my commute in to work...
a combination of the end of a road bridge over a railway track, which joins on to a downward sloping road which also has a sharp left hand bend with a manhole cover on it. And I usually have trouble taking the corner wide to avoid the manhole cover, cos the oncoming traffic often crosses the white line.

Thinking about it, in the wet it's probably about the most dangerous urban stretch of road I can think of Shocked

I had one the other day on the way to work, I was happily going along the dual carriage way, one car in front.
She indicated right, and started to slow, she moved across there were no cars coming from the other direction.
As I was going to take the inside she swung left then right to get a better angle of the corner, I missed the car by about my cocks length (don’t say I brushed it you fuc*ers) Wink

yea i almost got hit by a van last night. on the way home , i was stuck behind a bus, seeing as the bus driver probably would not have seen me i stayed well back. the bus stopped at the bus stop (funny enough), and i'd slowed down to almost a stop and some van just pulled into my side of the road before he realised i was there to stick the brakes on. seeing as it was raining on the way home it made it seem so much worse. so i took it easy all the way home. not quite forgotten about it this morn, but we'll see how dry the roads are on the way home Very Happy

I rode to work today in the snow, got 3.5 miles and going down a hill at about 3 miles an hour with both feet on the floor I met a bus coming up. It proceeded to go sideways at the same time and crashed into a parked car.I had to mount the pavement to get around it (back end slipping left then right). 5 mins later I gave up and went back home. Im proud to say I didn't drop the bike but I wont be riding in the snow/ice again just not worth it. Phoned work and booked 1/2 day off and rode in the afternoon (gritters and sun have cleared the roads). Right I'm off home now, wish me luck...

Had a classic ice and different surfaces moment today, the back end let go and I came around the corner on the way into school totally sideways with the throttle pretty much jammed open. Must have looked fucking cool, strangely enough i didn't really think about that at the time.
