Dear *********@blueyonder.co.uk
,
We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your Barclays IBank account
from a different IP address.
If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in
attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you did not initiate
the log ins, please visit Barclays IBank as soon as possible to check-up your
account information:
https://ibank.barclays.co.uk/olb/p/LoginMember.do
Thanks for your patience.
Sincerely,
Barclays Centre

Yes, because there are.

Maybe only 1 in 1000 who get it do have a barclays account, etc. Then maybe only 1 in 1000 of those fall for it.

But, it only takes one click to send out those one million emails with the appropriate software and lists.

Because he has just pasted the e-mail, by clicking the link in daz's post, you are going to the genuine site. It's convincing because it's the real site.

In the actual real received e-mail, the link will point to another site, using standard link stuff, like this:

https://www.yahoo.com

The fact remains that as long as there are gullible fools out there, nigerian scamsters and their ilk will continue to make a good living stealing from them!

I remember sitting in the dock with a suspect in an assault case - it turned out he'd lost his rag because he'd fallen for the old "buy these bits of black paper - they turn into £50's when you dip them in this magical chemical!" scam! The bloke could have escaped quite easily because I was close to exploding with the effort of not laughing out loud.

The bench ripped it out of him, and said that not only was he violent, he was obviously incredibly stupid as well!

I felt strangely honoured to have met someone as incredibly gullible as him!
