SV650/s K5 Oil Cooler Problem?

Anyone else own a K5 SV650s or SV650 naked? I've now on my second oil cooler after the first one's paint decided to react, bubble and then peel off the top. It did it at around 2500 miles and was replaced on warranty at 3000. This one is now doing the doing the same after another 3000 (bikes total 6000)..........

Now the bike is spotless. Most of its 6000 miles are winter miles in salt yet the salt has done no damage and the rest of the bike is immaculate. Build quality on the whole is very good. The oil cooler itself is also spotlessly clean - just the paints peeling and for me is the bike's only let down.

It's not stone chips causing it as the paint first starts to react in the shallow depressions in the top (goes orange peel effect). It does this suddenly on both sides at the same time. Next the paint bubbles and flakes off, all in a few rides!

I'm not too bothered as once again it will be replaced on warranty (or rather it had better be!), I'm just curious to know if anyone else has had the same problem as for two coolers too do it is surely beyond coincidence???

I think my bike has the same oil cooler since its the same engine pretty much, ive done 3k miles and all thats happened is its started to fur up at the unions. Maybe a bad batch ??

The cooler is Aluminium. Suzuki probably haven't used an etching primer on the cooler so oxidation is starting under the paint.

Think the person to ask is ZRX61.

Went to York Suzuki today. They took pics to send off and said they would do their best. Suzuki may or may not supply a new one considering it's the second. Either way the dealer gave me loads of advice on what I can do to improve it's appearance if they don't.

That's a joke mate. If it's the second one you've had then it's obviously a dodgy batch, you should stick to your guns and tell them that you wont accept anything less than a brand new one.
