Advice needed in cleaning mild steel downpipes!

My exhaust downpipes on my gsxr600k1 are made of mild steel and can anyone tell me whats the best thing to use to get them looking nice and clean cos right now they look brown & horrible?

You can clean them up with some wirewool and a wire brush.

But they're just going to rust straight away. Splash out on some stainless or titanium.

Drill mounted wire wheel and then a few coats of bbq paint, it will looks nice then (and will make them last a bit longer)

Like SoND said, once mild steel ones get past a certain point there not much can be done to save them
