Hi. My first bike gear was a textile jacket and trousers made by Weise. They were dead cheap and extremely tough as i wore them on the dry ski slope from time to time. They also had removable armour.

Not familiar with the Kent area though dude.

What are you after? Leathers? Textiles?

What sort of riding will you be doing? Any trackdays? Commuting?

Hein Gericke are always a good starting point. They do basic textiles up to full leathers and have a wide range to suit most needs.

Check out the link to see if they have a store near you Thumbs Up

Hi, I see you are from Sandwich - I am from Dover, the best place to get bike gear from is Alford Brothers in Folkestone, I always get a bit of discount there if I pay cash. You have also got Honda garage on the A2, but they are a bit expensive and they also got a Honda branch in Margate but again can be a bit expensive. Imo you can't beat Alford Brothers Thumbs Up

Have you thought about buying online?? There are lots of biker sites out there you know equipped with just about everything and often cheaper than buying in the shops.

The problem with buying online though ISLAND GIRL, is the fit. Different companies class sizes differently. So whilst you may think your a snugg medium, it may end up being too tight or too lose. Someone was saying the tried on four or so of the same helmets and each one fitted differently. All the same size too. You could go to the shop to try on and then order online but kind of defeats the object, lol.

I went in there when I was looking for gear and found much of it expensive, and for the stuff in my price range it was not very good quality. I got my Targa gear for a good price from a local dealer and it all feels good quality and it keeps me nice and warm.

You guys are lucky, we dont have much here. Yea we have a few odds and sods in the dealers but what we need is just a shop full of motorcycle accessories, if anyone opened up a place like that here they would probably make a killing in trade. Are there any good shops like this in Southampton, could always pop over there one day for a scan about ??

I think Alford brothers is your best bet, a lot of their textile bike clothes are Akito which I have been very happy with. Also if you do go over there just mention Channel Riding School in Cheriton - just say they told you to go there - that should get you a bit of a discount. Thumbs Up Laughing

I find I wear Textile jacket and padded trousers if it's bloody cold but for looks I normally wear one piece leathers and I find them quicker to get on than jacket and trousers Laughing

In Maidstone you have a Hein Gerricke and Laguna Motorcycles.

Laguna are pretty good and have lots of sales. If you buy a few items together they will give a pretty decent discount. They are a registered Arai dealership too if you want an Arai helmet. They currently have a (i beleive it goes on until april..) sale on Dainesse 1 and 2 piece leathers as well as some Alpine stars textiles.

The Heine Gericke seems pretty shit tbh. Theres lots of floor space but very few racks of clothing. i dont really understand it.

Hope this helps in some way.
