I decided to take the A6 down to London the other day as i had a load of time to kill. Just off the A6, there was a nice set of B roads running adjacent to it, near to market Harborough.

I soon found out that the road had a nice humpback bridge. It was tempting me as i've done the one outside the Loughborough Grand Union canal one quite a few times and this was something different.

So i decided to give it some gas, 2nd gear 10000rpm, i have no working speedo so that roughly translates to about 40mph. Soon enough, i crested the bridge (making sure it was clear), and launched the bike 10-15feet forwards and about 3 feet into the air.

I thought it was a rush, but the landing was completely cocked up. With a loaded tank + tank bag at the front, the bike tipped forwards and came down nose heavy. This literally threw me off my seat and into the air. Thank god i had a good grip on the handlebar and shut it off. Bike juddered momentarily and i pulled to one side thinking "Dude it's fucking stupid!", next time you do that, just don't do it at all. I guess it's all well and good on a dirt mound with an 80kg bike, but if your on a sports bike in the wrong conditions with walled roads, think twice about cresting that arc of a bridge with such unnecessary speeds.

Peace out

Titz

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
