Well today was the day I was going to finally go to my Grandparents house on my bike to show them it, I've been wanting to go for ages and today I finally had a spare hour or so and wanted to take the bike out, regardless of ice and snow Laughing Anyway got there and everything was fine, lots of snow around their estate and ice a plenty, so I just went slow on it and it was fine.

Got inside had a chat and got some things to take home with me, money, biscuits and the like, and they told me they really liked my bike, which I totally agree with Laughing And I set off to come home, round corner number one, shitloads of ice for the next 100 metres or so, and a disguised speed bump too, so I went along quite slowly 5mph or so to keep it safe.

Anyway hit the speed bump, which I knew was there and had to go over at about 10mph or it probably wouldn't have made it, the front wheel touched down after and wobbled, I kept her up with my feet and then the back did too, the whole bike went over and landed right on top of me.

Ouch.

Anyway I hit the killswitch, and dragged my leg out from underneath the bike, and with some difficulty dragged it back up and stuck her on her stand, and then took a look at the damage whilst swearing like a drunken navvie. Anyway I left her a few minutes till the engine unflooded, and then started her up first go. Best of all there is no damage to any of the bike, apart from a smashed up indicator, which I was going to replace anyway. And it still works Laughing

Hasn't put me off a bit having my first off, I knew it was going to happen soon anyway and I'm glad to get it over and done with without getting hurt badly or damaging the bike too much. If it was a faired bike the fairings would be smashed to bits, so I'm so glad it's only sustained around a tenners worth of damage as opposed to a fair bit more which it could have been on a faired bike.

*Wanders off to find the BCF spill list*

I haven't got a car - and probably wouldn't have used it even if I did. The fact is I wanted to go out on my bike and the only snow I encountered was there and around the corner, I just took it too fast and felt the consequences. Tempting fate? Maybe. But I just had to get out on the bike, I was bored and I'm an all weather biker :-B

True.

And yesterday round that same corner my Uncle nearly crashed his car so we can all see how bad it actually is. Laughing

I do feel sorry for the bikers that I see riding in absolute shit weather whilst I'm in the car. Scraping the car takes the piss, but to have to scrape the seat of the bike Confused

It probably would actually. I'll do that until my replacement arrives, Craig- is sending me a spare for £4 so I can't complain.

Thumbs Up

P.S Would Araldite solve back pain? Laughing
