wait until you get a letter, i know a guy who was using 300gb + a month he got a letter from bt after 2 months of this sort of usage tellin him they were disconnecting him, and unless he went and paid for the business line they'd charge him quite a large sum per extra gig used

We've got a business line in my flat, so no download limits at all, although downloads seem to be throttled at the weekends. Well worth the extra cash for the peace of mind.

God only knows what they thought when they saw the usage spike while I was off work for 4 months!

I'm with NTL, they used to have a cap, and sent me an email one telling me I'd gone over my download limit.

Nothing ever came of it to be honest, and now all NTL speeds barr 10Mb are uncapped so Very Happy.

Telewest are the best around as far as I can tell...

10Mbit cable for £35 a month. No limits at all, no fair usage warnings (None that i've seen or heard of anyway), and as far as I know they don't plan on introducing any caps in the near future.

Correct, they say they will never cap downloads.
And i wouldn't use any body else for my broadband if i can possibly help it.

They can cap, and NTL have, and only informed customers that they went over alot like I did one month.

NTL gave up on the idea due to the implimentation being quite difficult.

Correction NTL have bought out Telewest, or to be exact there merging but with NTL being the larger there merging into NTL. And the NTL name will be kept. Smile

I've been using Wanadoo (and previously Freeserve) for the last couple of years. I regularly download MP3's, video clips, and game demos etc and I'm sure I've often exceeded the contracted limit, but never heard anything from Wanadoo or BT Thumbs Up

'tis what I have too. Wouldn't change it for anything out there to be honest.

I'm with Powernet, no limits - no restrictions and cheap as chips. I remember when the internet first started, and the guy who runs Powernet was work from his front room. He had BT round at least twice a week installing telephone lines or what ever they use. Now got posh offices across the road from where I work, but good service and good support. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Oh incase your wondering - no I don't work for them - just a very happy customer, who downloads old B&W films and have used the support on serveral occasions. Not very often you get a 5 star company!
