hi as some of you will know i have had a fair few problems with my nsr, and a motorbike mechanic i know has offered to take this off my hands for his missus in exchange for the above bike, i was wondering what you guys thought of it ive had a look on the various forums etc and can find loads on the vfr's, rvf's, and the nc 29 gull arms but i cant find much on these. basicly i want to know what you guys think of it, the things to look out for when i look at the bike in a weeks time other than the obvious ie head bearings, blue smoke from the exhaust etc.
also if any of you guys have any pictures of this perticular model because i cant find many would be a great help.
cheers mat

Pics of my girlfriends NC23 is here: https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/88cbr400/

They are good bikes, no real issues but like any bike if abused it will suffer.

Check for fairing damage, make sure it's nothing major as getting hold of panels can be difficult.

Check it's been serviced and the valve clearences have been checked

If it has the original down pipes, make sure they are not totally rusted and/or blowing (originals were mild steel) if it's they've been replaced make sure they are 4-2-1 pipes not 4-1 as the 4-1 kill any midrange, it's not a massive problem but something to think about.

apart from that there isnt much that can go wrong, they are good bikes and alot of people rate them higher than the NC29.
