Not been to any of those I'm afraid.

I got offers from Brighton, Bradford and Birmingham, but I'm going to Keele I think. So if anyone knows anything about Keele, it'd be nice to hear about it! Mr. Green

APU is now called Anglia Ruskin University Rolling Eyes

I attended APU for nursing (Chelmsford), its utter SHITE. Its a make pretend university, hence they have decided to drop the 'Polytechnic' from the name.

I have had the misfortune to attend several times post grad style courses as my hospital is linked to it Crying or Very sad

I only went to APU as it was local.

Dont do it Sad Thumbs Down

Keele is just outside Stoke-on-Trent. Nice little campus, feels like it's pretty rural, but the town is about 10 mins away on the bus (5 in the car or on a bike) and it's slap bang next to the motorway too.

I read history there, which has a fairly top-rated department, couldn't really comment on the rest, although I know they've recently built a big medical department to fleece money off the government.

Good social life, cheap area of the country to live in, good transport links, nice countryside within easy riding/driving distance.

It's not exactly Oxbridge, but it was built as a uni rather than being a converted polytechnic.

My wife went to Chester and keeps raving about it, mainly about the hundreds of pubs within the city walls and the fact that it's a PE college with loads of blokes and lesbians.

APU/ARU as it's now called was my top one, for fees, bursary etc,
but UWE is my favourite 50miles from home, course looks top notch.

why was APU so bad? the digs? the lecturers? the course?
It's supposed to be the best for animal behaviour, which is what I intend to study.

Chester want 260 points off me and a C in biology, which I don't think will be happening.

get my january module results tomorrow hopefully, and I will then have more of a incling as to where I'm headed.

Thanks for the comments keep them coming!

It might be just the Chelmsford Campus? Cambridge is probably more upper class Laughing Well its not in Essex Thumbs Up

Arrow The facilities at APU are quite poor
Arrow Lecturers for my course(s) were shite
Arrow Teaching methods adopted were worse than at GCSE

I cant comment on animal behaviour, other than antics on a friday night Wink

At the end of the day, the choice of university is down to many reasons, only you (and parents finances) can decide.

I'm knida ebarressed when I tell people that I went to APU Embarassed
