Yeap they are all on strike today. No Uni for me today Razz

But bit different from school as I got to pay for Uni. I'm missing 3 lectures and seminars today. Tuition fees are £1200 ish. I'm Losing out on about £10 of teaching today. The sods.

I think striking lecturers is bad. If they're not allowed to hit the kids anymore, no-one should be hitting them either.

Unlucky mate. A few of the teachers at my college went on strike for one day a few months back. The teachers were stood at the entrances handing out leaflets and stuff about lack of pay & there were other people shouting 'Scabs' when people went past the 'picket line' Was quite funny at the time. But lucky for me, I don't have to pay for the course that I'm on. Laughing

What are they striking about? I'm guessing it can't be money as University lecturers are pretty well payed compared to their national curriculum counter parts.

I think a junior lecturer gets about 25k, which goes all the way up to 50-80k for heads of department depending on the University.

Regardless of how much you earnt, if you were promised a pay rise, and based a lot of things on that promise, then they turned round and told you to get stuffed, you wouldn't be best pleased.

Now I have to miss my 4 - 6 seminar on a compulsory module I hate.
