It has to be time to consider that 'old school' now if you look at the latest wave of pretenders in the charts waving thier glittery chains around. It was a different era.
I don't listen to hip hop much these days but still have the classics on my ipod - doggystyle, The Chronic, B.I.G Ready to Die.
I think Doggystyle came out in early nineties, I was listening to that when I was about 14 and I'm 26 now! Back in the day when they rapped about guns, blunts and bitches! Never did me any harm.
Imagine if you told Snoop Dogg back then that he'd end up doing a duo with Justing Timberlake of boy band fame......we'll he probably would have shot you. ____________________ GSXR600 |

Favourite Album of that genre has to be Whodini 'Escape'...
'Five Minutes Of Funk'
'Friends'
'Escape'
'Freaks Come out at Night'
All classic tracks.
Came out in '84(ish) when old skool was where your Mum went when she was a kid and Burning music was when you melted the latest Bucks Fizz 7" with your Dad's zippo.
Might have to dust off the vinyl this evening ____________________ Mellow Yellow

Woah. That was about '88. I was 13. Have it on the hard drive.
Like metal, the rap/hip hop scene used to be cool. |

I can't say I know what's going on in Hip Hop clubs, but the crap I see on Music channels and hear on the radio just makes me think... Jesus, this stuff has just stopped moving in any direction. It's the same old shit with a diffrerent 80's tune behind it.

Snoop is a sellout now, same as all these other stains performing utter shite on tv.
Bring back the time where people appreciated bands like the guns n roses. Music has gone to shit.
For instance Mcfly and Busted, who tf are these pointless homos. ____________________ "Do what you always did, get what you always got" |
