This post is a bit girly, for that I'm sorry Embarassed

Has anyone found a gel / mouse / wax / putty / mud that will keep my shortish hair style looking reasonably good after wearing the helmet.

Another vote for shaving, it's what I do.

I keep it a bit longer in winter, and then lop it all off in summer.

Many times I have turned up for work as the 'chemo kid' Laughing

I think I have scared the shit out of a few old grannies in the middle of the night when answering the call buzzer.

I get pissed of shaving my face, let alone shaving my head every couple of days as if grow for a week or so, it looks like my arse, all furry Wink

After a year and a half I have found an answer to helmet hair (well it works for me!).

I normally just chuck on the helmet and when i take it off my hair seems to have the lines/shape of the inside of the helmet carved into it making me look like a fool when I am at uni.

But the solution is this....a balaclava! Yes, wear it over you head and it stops your hair taking the shape of the inside of a helmet. When you get off the bike and take off the balclava just put hand through hair to fluff it up abit (as it may be a bit flat from wearing the balaclava) and hey presto! no more nasty helmet hair. Laughing

Well it works for me! Thumbs Up

I'm a recent convert to having hair after something like 12 years of having a bonehead. There is some stuff I think by wella called something like Plastic something. Its bright pink, anyway, and works a treat. Your helmet will flatten your hair, but you can style it again and again. Is it called Extrovert or something?

It works, anyway.

I now use d:fi medium hold wax, its a professional styling product which i think you can only get from salons. Works really well, not sure about a helmet but you can change it quite alot before it wears off.

Quite expensive at £11 a tub though.

I found putting Gel in, for instance brylcream gel about half an hour before putting the helmet on worked well. The gel dries, and then is only mildly rubbed outwhen you put it on.

So my hair used to look damn good.

Yup that VO5 reworkable gunk is good. My hair is thick so when it gets over a certain length it is hopeless so I just leave it.

Don't be a tart!

I just rub my head when I take the helmet off. Laughing After a week of caring when I first got my bike, I found going to the bathrooms to be a ponce was just too much hassle, so I stopped bothering. Now, after a 5 month gap of having no bike at all, I haven't gelled my hair once, I just look like a scruffy git. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I will have to cut it shorter once I'm wearing a helmet again, though. Sad

I'll 2nd the balaclava idea.

I use a buff or helmet liner from edz. Keeps you lid cleaner too.

Good point. Thumbs Up Whatever you put in your hair is going to end up coating the inside of your lid and may well end up quite yucky.
