Now i'm a member of all the regional forums, although i do only post in midlands i sometimes like having a browse through the other ones to see whats going on.

I have tried a couple of times but with no success, it seems mrchips is only letting people who live in ireland join the group, even though it is an open group?

All the regional sections are locked for their own members only.

Not the way i see it, i'm going on a rideout in may with the south east crew, but i'm not allowed to post in their forum because i'm not from there? Thats a load of pish. I've posted in there on several occasions.

Mr.Everready. Thats exactly it, the moderators of each forum have allowed me in, except mrchips.

And yes, i may well be going to ireland next year on my bike to watch some racing.

You don't need to be a member in there now then do you ?
Just because you might go to Ireland sometime in the future doesn't allow you access.
Thats what the touring section is for.

Isn't the point of a forum to meet new people and go on rideouts, if i can't see that anyone in ireland is meeting up, how am i meant to go as well?

Plus i've seen many moderators posting in the sections they are not from.

i dont see why regional forums have to be closed without permission anyway

if i had my way they would be like any other bits of bcf

wales forum has told me a few places in wales that wd be good to explore

im sure ireland section could do the same if i was going to ireland so why have it closed ? daft

Must agree with others, why lock the regional forums when they could be of use for people planning to go to diferent parts of the country?

Were better to ask about sight seeing in Wales than in a place used by Welsh bikers? and the same for other regiones, after all isnt that what forums are made for?

Plus i see lots of people from different regions posting i other regions group so why should one region try to be different? are they special? does it make them feel important?

Or could it be" I am a mod, i have the power"

Afraid I agree with the locking of sections, quite why everyone is given permission when they have no real intention of going to the area is beyond me. I use the scottish section to escape the main section of BCF, I don't like the thought of anyone and everyone having access, even if it is just to browse.

Thumbs Down to public access.

If you're planning a rideout to a specific area, just post in normal bike chat. Has worked since it started.
