Went to see it last night, thought it was very good and would recommend it.

Although the trailers kind of make it look like an action film it most definitely is not one.

Bella and I saw that on Friday night in the cinema.

Absolutely brilliant film. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I'd quite happily go see it again.

It's about the oppression of a nation by its government, and what happens when the nation fights back.

Bit of a mix of 1984/Hitler/Stalin/Guy Fawkes.

Fantastic!

The films asks the question

'Does the end ever justify the means'

Throughout history many people some whom are hero's to us and some are notorious have used the argument the end justified the means.

It also brings up the argument that one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.

It was a fantastic film.

I really enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of shooty bangy things so wasn't expecting to enjoy it, in fact Jon had to bribe me out with a drink in a nice bar. In actual fact it was the best film I have seen for ages Very Happy

Jonathan Ross gave this film the biggest slating EVER, so I don't think I'll shell out to watch it. Me and a few mates went to see 'The Inside Man' but the projector broke down, so we went back to a mates house and watched Hostel with the lights fully off and the sound fully up. Was quite a good watch really, very 'Wicker Man'esque and a hint of Texas Chainsaw Massacre chucked in, like everyone is in on it and they don't know. Mildy gory, not very scary (To me anyway) and quite a good ending which is infact quite a rare thing these days.

I do like my movies and I am a good critic, but very harsh so if a film gets a thumbs up from me it's usually a good watch, and this is quite a good watch. Try to stay focused throughout or you might miss something or the seemingly predictable storyline will catch you out. Plus there are at least 5 pairs of breasts in the first 15 minutes of the film so it's a good one for the lads.

Thumbs Up Smile

Don't be a prat. A good critic will make up his own mind about a film, and not decide not to watch one because some other ponce told him not to.

Go watch it, it's excellent.

Generally if critic's say it's a pile of steaming turd then it's more often than not a good film.

Especially where Barry Norman or Woss is concerned.

he also slated Narnia-and he was quite wrong about that.
so it seems most are completely against Ross's opinion on this film...i thought he's meant to be a great critic geezer

I am. I just don't get the fascination with it. I prefer my Chuck Norrises and my Stephen Segals. And anything with comedy or gore. Not a nerds wetdream!

In which case, you should never EVER utter the words "I am a good film critic" again. Ever.

A film critic is supposed to judge a film on its merits, not on whether you like that style of film or not.

I find the critics really confusing...or maybe it’s just very biased.

I've been watching good films a hell of a lot since moving out and to tell the truth I know a good film when I see one.
Woss and Norman are predictable as fuc* and I envy them for the utter tripe they spill out and make a program out of it, I know what they are going to like and what they don’t like and TBH I think a lot of the research is not done by themselves.

Also same can be said for the Oscars, WTF?
Every time it is on I see the same shi* being given top marks, I hate seeing the likes Meryl Streep get awards for another miserable performance.
I have watched films I shouldn’t have liked but when it ends I can defiantly credit it for things for example, the directing, the lenses used, the lighting, the script and most important for me the sound track.
I don’t pay attention to them all the time through a film, that would ruin it, but if I was reviewing it, it wouldn’t be as bland as Ross.
A lot of things have to be taken into account in a film review, personally I don’t think it matters how much you know about the budget, the stars and what they ate in between scenes.

If it has the slightest resemblence to any of shakespeare's work you can guarantee old norman will love it.

with norman it was dreary norweigian films about seagulls migrating south that got his vote every time, and with ross it seems to be obscure asian cinema. Pretentious w*nkers. IMO.

The fact that Rossy seems to like the obscure Asian films gives him a lot of respect from me. If anything just by pointing out a good film for me to watch, as you dont exactly hear a lot about the Asian films in this country.

So if anyone knows of a film database to go to to find some good Asian films let me know!
